About us: Kijé is a pioneering female-centered taxi service and human rights protector. We provide safe, affordable rides designed for women, while also creating safe houses across West Africa for women and children escaping abuse. Our vision is to fight gender-based violence and empower women by combining mobility with protection, dignity, and hope. Our mission: For women all over the world, something as simple as getting from one place to another too often means risking harassment, assault, or worse. Unsafe mobility isn’t just an inconvenience—it’s a barrier to education, work, and freedom. Kijé was founded on a simple belief: safe transit is a human right. Our female-operated ride service provides secure, reliable transportation while also serving as a trusted point of contact for women in crisis. But safety must extend beyond the road. In West Africa, femicide and domestic violence have created an urgent need for refuge. That’s why Kijé is building a network of confidential safe houses offering immediate protection, trauma-informed care, and legal advocacy. By integrating safe mobility with safe shelter, Kijé delivers a self-sustaining ecosystem of security. Ride revenue funds our services, while our trained drivers often become the first step toward safety. With your support, we can expand our fleet and open more safe houses—helping women move freely, live without fear, and reclaim their futures.
